Launch of Agni V was much awaited defence capability, not only for defence analysts but also for common Indians who still have time to think about there country and its defence capabilities against global offence capabilities.
India is now a part of ICBM (Inter Continental Ballistic Missile) Club with its indigenous long range missile AgniV (range upto 5000 km, some foreign media claim it to be over 7000 km), currently few countries had this capability namely the US, UK, Russia, China and France (and now it also includes India).

India desperately required a missile programme with defence capabilities within this range as it was necessary for its self respect and the successful launch of Agni V on April 19, 2012 from Wheeler Island has helped its pride.
It is true that a defence capability can be used as an offence capability but those who understand and know the philosophy of India can definitely understand that Indians are more humans then anyone else and according to it power doesn't mean ability to suppress but it is just a worldly evidence of having ability to restrain oppression.

48 years old Mrs. Tessy Thomas was in command of this missile launch program, India has currently abandoned its programme for Agni VI.
