Indian economy is touching new heights since 2003. Index of BSE Sensex has already crossed the mark of 14000 and hopefully will touch 16000 in near future. This economic boom is evident all over the country, in all major cities and surrounding suburban area which has turned into an area under construction.

This is a normal view as a result of developments and booming economy but there are also other views and transformations which aren't visible so clearly, although it is common and normal in a rapidly changing environment. It's all right if these make sense in terms of material gains but our tradition has seldom looked at any achievement with such a narrow view. If we can't get an all round development in every walk of our life from this highly accentuated word "Economy" then I don't think its worthy.
In a report published recently in one of the leading newspapers of India, India followed by China is poised to overtake US economy by 2050. There is no doubt in view of abundant natural and human resources that India has and there is no reason we shouldn't believe in this fact.
This is a good news for all Indians on this planet, but only if we take things seriously and do some introspection before we move ahead with our development plans.
Developed economy isn't an end but a mean to make our ends meet. In order to prosper properly with this booming economy we must look at the side effects of a developed economy. We can study already developed society and should take appropriate steps here.
If we cannot ascertain this than I am sure its only going to be an economic development without any real human resource development. If welfare of the nation is our prime motive behind using technology and innovations for development then we must be concerned with the way we are moving and other better and suitable options to make this move.
