Terrorism With India

India is suffering from menace of terrorism for over two decades now. In most parts of the country there is a nexus between the terrorism and underworld. In some parts they term it as a part of a political agitation or militancy.

A new form of terrorism is spreading in other poverty driven areas of India called nexalites. This is spreading to more and more states and need immediate attention.

On 12^th July 2006 there were a series (8) of bomb explosions in first class boogies of local trains in Mumbai. All these explosions took place in different parts of the city. These explosions took place in time span of approximately 30 minutes, i.e. they started at 6:20 pm IST and ended at around 6:45 pm IST. This is the time when trains are generally over crowded as every passenger returns home after his job.

I’ve not mentioned it because this is the only incident that took place in last few months. I’ve mentioned it because this is only one of the incidents that caused ripples in media and political circles around the globe. Take any regional or local newspaper in India and you will notice that incidents of terrorist attack, explosion are a regular news article.

Indian security forces and other agencies are involved in such operations everyday, because this is a part of there job. Finding a permanent solution or preventive action isn’t a part of there job. There job makes them victim of inhumane behavior accusation, although they aren’t responsible for that.

Government which has the responsibility of this is replaced every five years and most of its efforts are concentrated in somehow completing this period and returning to power again.

Leaders are either not foresighted or lack requisite will. They are more interested in maintaining and extending there vote bank then taking measures to curb antinational and antisocial activities. They fear that this could back lash there political career.

A feeling of helplessness prevails at all levels, which is being utilized and mobilized by anti-national elements with support from outside.

Incidents are investigated time and again to prove the same fact. International support on the issue won’t solve the issue as we can see in all these years. We have to develop and execute our own strategy. Our strategy must not be limited to cure but to complete eradication.

Our politicians planning for any region in the country reflects number of parliamentary seats in the region, higher the seats better is the planning.

To overcome the curse of terrorism and terrorist attack India must review its policies and plans in effected areas and implement the same in rest of the country to curb further spread. Citizens involvement in such solution must be insured.

Latest news at IndiaTV reveal that Prime Minister's security on 15 August 2006 had three militants. Now one can understand gravity of the situation.
